Installation & Setup

Now that you’ve seen how the CLI was built, here is how you can install and use the finished Somethingzz CLI on your own machine!

  1. Clone the repository: First, download the code to your local machine using Git.

    Terminal window
    git clone https://github.com/Shadow-sama287/something-cli.git
    cd something-cli
  2. Install dependencies: Install all the required packages (like Chalk and Commander) that the CLI relies on.

    Terminal window
    npm install
  3. Build the TypeScript files: Compile the .ts files into executable .js files.

    Terminal window
    npm run build
  4. Link the package globally:

    Terminal window
    npm link

You’re now ready to use the CLI! Head over to the File Analysis Commands page to see what you can do.
